Welcome to the club, Airport Explorer! We’re so excited you’re here!

As a member of this club, you can learn about airports, the people (and animals!) who work there, and how airports work.

You can also learn about the history of flying, the science of aviation, and other subjects related to the airport, airplanes, and travel!

Because we work for Toronto Pearson International Airport in Toronto, Canada, we’ll use that airport as an example for some of these subjects. But we hope you’ll join us from anywhere in the world to learn about airports and air travel!

Airport Explorers, here is your pre-boarding checklist:

  • Check out our slideshows that have lots of information and pictures. Read them, do more research on themes that are interesting to you, and share your favourite new facts with your friends and family!

  • Practice what you learned with our activities—like crafts, games, and exercises—which are downloadable and easily shared with your family and friends.

  • Share your activities with us! We would love to see your pictures, videos, and art. Email them to trafficcontrol@airportexplorer.club and we’ll showcase them in our Explorers at Work section on the website.

  • Have questions? Need help with the activities? Get in touch. We have experts who can answer your questions.

  • Interested in learning more? We’re hosting a number of virtual camps throughout the year. Become an official Pearson Airport Explorers member and we’ll make sure you are invited. Visit the website regularly to register for your spot at the camp.

Thanks for joining the Explorers Club. Now, let’s get off the ground!

Boarding Time, Explorers - here’s your ticket, let’s go exploring!

For parents:

Welcome to Airport Explorer, an online educational resource for kids.

The Pearson Airport Explorers Club was created by the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) to engage with kids in grades 3 through 8 on topics related to Toronto Pearson Airport, aviation, and travel. Endorsed by the Ministry of Education’s official Ontario Together Learn at Home initiative, our Airport Explorers Club is the perfect program to keep kids busy while learning about the world of aviation.

Our Explorers Club website is full of amazing things, from slideshows full of fun facts, photos and links to further learning, to downloadable activities and interviews with subject-matter experts and a behind-the-scenes look at Toronto Pearson Airport. Due to the success of the online programming, we’ve also launched a series of virtual camps to provide more opportunities for kids to engage in the program.

We invite you and your young ones to join in the club, attend our virtual camps and have fun with the activities. We also encourage you to submit your children’s work for recognition on our website!

We started building this website in April 2020 to create more activities for kids to learn from home while the COVID-19 pandemic prevented them from attending school. And we are proud that the Explorers Club was named the 2020 winner of Airports Council International – North America’s Best Educational and Outreach Program for aviation educational programming.

We hope your kids will find the Explorers Club entertaining and interesting during these trying times and beyond.

Safe travels, from all of us at Toronto Pearson.
